The UK is currently reviewing eyesight legislation for drivers, which could soon make regular eye tests part of driving licence renewal — especially for older motorists. Concerns have grown after an inquest found several fatal road accidents involved drivers whose vision fell far below the legal driving eyesight standards, yet they continued driving because the UK system relies on self-reporting eyesight issues.
