It is an honor and a privilege to be invited to write a guest spot in The Spectacle Factory’s blog today and showcase my most worn pairs of eyewear from 2025. So, in the style of Robert’s YouTube videos, let me introduce myself. Hi, I’m Megan, Certified Dispensing Optician with York Eye Associates in York Pennsylvania and it’s my job to pair you with your perfect pair of glasses.

A little of my history and how I became acquainted with The Spectacle Factory. I have been in the optical industry for almost three years now and at the beginning of my journey as an optician I, like many opticians, felt overwhelmed by all that there was to learn. Like any good student I went to YouTube to supplement my education, devouring everything I could from channels like Laramy K and eventually coming across The Spectacle Factory.

The Spectacle Factory was my introduction to eyewear as more than utilitarian and I realized that the right pair of eyewear could be truly life-changing for my clients. A passion for this profession was ignited and has been growing ever since. I make it a personal goal to provide my clients with the highest quality experience and clear education when designing their eyewear, hoping to spark that same passion in them along the way.

Spring-boarding from Robert’s recent video “The Glasses I wore MOST in 2025”, allow me to explain why each of these pairs of eyewear was perfect for ME in 2025. I hope that I can inspire you before your next optical consultation.

Coming in at number 4, we have the Tanner by Mykita eyewear.

I found Mykita when they were featured on The Spectacle Factory’s channel and sought out a local stockiest here in Pennsylvania for this pair. Strong, light and flexible, they are lightweight and comfortable while still maintaining a presence. I’ve paired them with Trivex lenses that are XTractive Grey Transitions. Most of my lenses are tinted, photochromic or both and these are no exception. I love Trivex for its feather lightness and optical clarity but unfortunately, they were only available in grey or brown at the time. Still, light responsive lenses are an absolute must when you’re light sensitive like I am.

In the number 3 spot, we have the Armani AR8139 which is actually a sunglass frame.

I’ve paired this frame with CR-39 lenses that have a purple photochromic color which is proprietary to a small lab I have a relationship with. I chose this color in particular because it was very close to the sweet violet tint that The Spectacle Factory often showcases on their channel. The frame is Luxottica, I know, but Armani tends to be better quality and some of them feature titanium construction. I love this frame because of the extremely thin temples and interesting acetate inlay in a semi-rimless design.

Now we’re getting to the cream of the crop, my two pairs from The Spectacle Factory.

Coming in at 2, we have the New York by AHLEM

This is in grey gold with an Amber gradient tinted Trivex lens that sports a green photochromic and drive coating. This was my birthday present to myself this year and I am absolutely in love. The frame is elevated without being over the top, my personal style is more subtle luxury, and I appreciate that Rob understood that when he styled me in this frame. He chose the grey gold color due to my complexion, and it works beautifully.

The aviator shape is small and not overwhelming making it perfect for everyday use. I was deliberately seeking to design a pair of eyewear I’d reach for again and again which we certainly achieved! The amber tint combined with the drive coating make them hands down the most comfortable night driving glasses I have ever worn. The only reason why this pair is not in my number 1 spot is that I have not had them for long enough yet!

And finally in the number 1 spot we have the Imaginist by Masunaga

Paired with a blue gradient CR-39 Zeiss SmartLife lens. The titanium construction of this frame makes it strong, light and comfortable and the blue gradient tint to the lens is perfect for indoor and outdoor use.

The Zeiss Smartlife lens design is the only lens in the eyewear featured here that has a little bit of add power for reading in it, which I don’t absolutely need yet but it provides comfort and relief, especially during the end of the day when my eyes are starting to feel tired. I wore this pair of eyewear to the New York Philharmonic this January and they are still my go to for special occasions, but they make a beautiful pair for everyday use as well!

So there we have it! My 4 most worn pairs for 2025! Which ones did you like best?
