Ahlem is a lifestyle brand founded in 2014 by Paris-born designer Ahlem Manai-Platt, blending Parisian elegance with Californian cool. Beyond eyewear, the brand embodies a commitment to artisanal craftsmanship, sustainability, and timeless design. Handmade in France, Ahlem emphasises quality over mass production while being influenced by Bauhaus and Art Deco, its minimalist aesthetic reflects a love for geometry and balance.

For this week's eyewear of the week, we have selected this custom pair of Ahlem Saints Peres frames which we have created for a client. The combination of a gold coating paired with a gold frame makes this custom pair stand out on a whole different level.

THE FRAME

The Ahlem Saint Peres frames exemplify artisanal craftsmanship and premium materials. Handcrafted in France from Mazzucchelli acetate—a durable, eco-friendly, plant-based material—they feature a matte finish achieved through raw hand-cutting, giving each frame a unique texture and pattern.

The frames include a custom five-barrel hinge for added durability and comfort. Metal components, like titanium nose pads, are electro-dipped in 22k gold for an elegant, long-lasting finish. Ahlem’s focus on sustainability ensures that each frame is both stylish and environmentally conscious.

The frames' intricate patterns, inspired by Bauhaus design, feature geometric designs of triangles and circles, reflecting balance and minimalism. Laser-engraved or hand-finished, this detailing enhances the frames' luxurious, artisanal feel.

THE LENSES

Zeiss single vision lenses are crafted to correct either near or distance vision, offering superior clarity through Freeform technology, which customises the lens surface for a wider field of view. These lenses are thin, lightweight, and available in multiple indices, making them ideal for higher prescriptions. SmartView technology helps with frequent focus shifts between digital screens and the real world, enhancing comfort throughout the day. Optional coatings like DuraVision Platinum for scratch resistance and BlueGuard for blue light protection provide added durability and eye protection, making Zeiss single vision lenses a premium choice for both visual clarity and long-term eye health

For the finishing touches, we've incorporated a golden coating to the lenses, enhancing the looks while also perfectly matching with the frame.
