A high prescription doesn't have to mean compromising on how your glasses look. This week's Eyewear of the Week is a perfect example: the striking FLAIR 2500 in Black and Gold, paired with ultra-thin Zeiss ClearMind 1.74 lenses.

The FLAIR 2500 immediately stands out for its construction. The frame is 3D printed, allowing for a lightweight, contemporary design with a distinctive shape and finish. Our customer has a relatively high prescription of approximately -5.00 in each eye. With prescriptions like this, lenses naturally become thicker towards the edges, which means choosing the right frame, lens material and measurements becomes particularly important if you want the finished glasses to look their best.

For this pair, we've used Zeiss ClearMind lenses in a 1.74 high-index material. The higher refractive index allows us to create a significantly slimmer lens than would be possible using a standard lens material, helping us achieve a much more refined finish within the frame.

We've also incorporated ZEISS BlueGuard, with blue light filtering properties built directly into the lens material, and finished the lenses with DuraVision Gold, a premium coating that adds a beautiful golden reflection while providing excellent clarity and durability.

The gold reflection is particularly effective here. As the light catches the lenses, it echoes the gold detailing of the FLAIR frame, making the lenses feel like an intentional part of the overall design rather than simply something added to correct the customer's vision.

Most importantly, look at how good these lenses look for a -5.00 prescription. By carefully considering the frame choice, lens material and final finish, we've been able to create a pair that looks beautifully balanced, without the lenses overwhelming the frame.
