Eyewear of the Week: Out-of-This-Galaxy Customised John Varvatos Frame

This week’s Eyewear of the Week takes a leap into hyperspace with a truly one-of-a-kind customised piece that any Star Wars fan would be proud to wear.

Our customer brought in their own John Varvatos frame – sleek, minimal, and already full of character. But what we’ve done with it is anything but ordinary. The result? A perfect fusion of fashion, function, and fandom.

Let’s start with the lens treatment: we’ve added a 25% sweet violet tint for that subtle but stylish wash of colour that softens glare without compromising visibility. It's a hue that adds an effortlessly cool edge to the frame, while still being practical enough for daily wear.

On top of that, we layered in a drive coating—great for reducing reflections and enhancing clarity while behind the wheel or out in the sun. But it doesn’t stop there. These lenses also feature a purple photochromic treatment, so they darken in sunlight and return to clear indoors, offering both protection and versatility, all while maintaining that distinct violet tone.

And the pièce de résistance? The custom engravings that make this pair truly unique. One lens is etched with the iconic Mandalorian Crest, and the other with the Jedi Order insignia. Whether you align with the ancient guardians of peace or the lone bounty hunters of the Outer Rim, this eyewear pays homage to both. These engravings aren’t stickers or surface prints—they’re precision laser-etched right into the lenses for a permanent, refined finish.

This isn’t just eyewear—it’s a conversation piece, a passion project, and a personalised work of art. A perfect example of how we can take your existing frame and turn it into something entirely your own.

Got an idea for your own customised pair? Bring it in—we love a challenge!
